Richard Pierpoint Commemorative Plaque Ceremony General

Join Parks Canada in unveiling the HSMBC plaque commemorating Richard Pierpoint as a person of national historic significance. At the Fergus Grand Theatre, speakers will highlight the story of Richard Pierpoint, a man whose life experiences illustrate the contributions and hardships of Black Loyalists in Upper-Canada in the late 18th and early 19th century.

The Awakening-Release of the Monsters General

For nearly two decades, Tim Murton’s Twilight Zoo has been decorating the streets of Elora with a unique collection of lantern sculptures. During the month of October, visitors started coming to Elora from all over Southern Ontario to see the display. Local artists, community groups, businesses and other organizations started adding themed events as popularity grew, leading to the name “Monster Month in Elora.”

Public skating is open to all ages and abilities. Strollers are not permitted on the ice during public skating. Children 9 years and younger, must be supervised on ice, by a parent/guardian who is at least 12 years of age with sufficient skating ability.

Windjammers Concert-40 Piece Wind Ensemble General

The Windjammers, Canada’s Premier Pops Wind Orchestra, will present a varied program of Pops and Favorites at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fergus. This 40 piece orchestra is world-class professional orchestra of this size and quality has never before been heard in Centre Wellington.

The concert will raise funds for specialized surgical equipment that will make it possible for corrective hand surgery to be done at Groves Memorial Hospital.

Sensational Pumpkin Day General

Sensational Pumpkin Day is a free family event celebrating the end of the harvest season; it's all about the pumpkins. There will be pumpkins available for families for carving and/or decorating (for prizes). There will be a professional pumpkin carver demonstrating his carving techniques on a giant pumpkin (available to win in a draw at the end of the day).

Pawleys Pets Reptile Show will be there as well as highland dancers, face painting, and music throughout the day.

African Drumming Circle- Sensational Pumpkin Day General

This year Sensational Elora will be featuring an African Drum Circle where attendees can participate; Musician and Multi-Instrumentalist Babarinde Williams (fondly known as “Baba”) is an award-winning motivational speaker, singer, recording artist, producer, ethnomusicologist, music educator, music director and writer who has been featured on Tedtalks and other professional and academic forums. Baba has not only led large drumming events at various institutions but also led multi-generational family groups in back yards and living rooms. Years of after-school drumming programs in the Dufferin-Eglington areas and numerous assemblies and workshop events in schools, churches, libraries, and other institutions contribute to Babarinde’s experience as a facilitator. Don't miss this special event under the big tent, rain or shine.

Tribal Vision Dance is a family dance troupe from the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. The group is comprised of champion singers and dancers with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with young audiences and families to build a deeper understanding and appreciation of First Nations culture.

Turtle Island Performance

Explore First Nations history and traditions in Tribal Vision’s high-energy performance! The artist will explain the history and significance of their dances and illustrate the cultural experience of First Nations peoples in Canada. This show is an introduction to the powwow culture of North American Indigenous people. Join the artists for an interactive Q&A to learn more about their regalia, dances, and First Nations history.
